Pen Pal program provides many benefits to students who are learning a new language. First, the letters are authentic writing written to real audience. It is great practice for the students to think of topics about which to write and to ask and answer questions. It also adds much enthusiasm to our writing program as students eagerly await the arrival of the letters each week. Another benefit is that students get to know members of the global community. The letters between the students will provide a window into elementary, middle and high schools, families, and lifestyles in Asia.
